I know what I said yesterday, about wanting to be paid to write from home – and that is the goal of goals for now – BUT until that comes into fruition… try as I may, I can’t get this darn notion of working for a living out of my head.
This isn’t some upstanding work ethic I have, I think it’s this nagging desire to actually pay the bills, instead of just letting them lay there… This morning, in lieu of working on my script, I googled J.Crew and called to see if they were hiring.
Perhaps I’m a masochist… seriously. The act of googling, dialing, and talking about working in retail was completely involuntary…
And of course they’re hiring, it’s the holiday season… at this point they’re looking for any desperate brokies to work on Black Friday (which from my estimation, either perspective; shopper or seller, is the worst possible nightmare) and Xmas Eve and New Year’s Eve and…
WAIT.
I hate retail. Have I learned nothing?
Dear Me,
Keep your eyes on the prize… Your broke-ness is only temporary. Write the script… If you write it, the money will come.
X’s and O’s,
Me
