I’ve been spending unusual amounts of time at the library, I request movies that are newly released on DVD. I read books to keep me occupied and participate in free webinars to stay up-to-date in my industry. I’ve started an ecommerce business but it’s been very slow. But the website is reasonably priced. I too shop at resale shops. Last week I bought a nice heavy sweater and jeans for $5, nice boat shoes for $5 and a Dooney & Bourke shoulder bag for $15. I figured if I get desperate I’ll sell the purse on Craigslist or Ebay for $40 (maybe more). I eat out quite a bit and split the meal into 2 meals. So, about $6 for two meals. Don’t forget the COUPONS!!!!
I have them for everything from Culver’s to Popeyes, Whole Foods has some too that you can download from their website. Keep the faith!

Thanks Melanie, these are definitely good ideas. I’m all about the re-sale shops and TJ Maxx and sample sales… of course I’ve put my penchant for shopping on hold, but whenever I do get back to caring about fashion I will not be shopping “retail”. I also gave up whole foods a while ago. And while I love the idea of doing the farmer’s market thing, I haven’t actually tried it yet. Perhaps the time is now.
